Flu and COVID-19 Seasonal Vaccination Programme: autumn/ winter 2025/26

As autumn approaches, now is the time to start thinking about getting the annual flu jab and seasonal Covid vaccination.
We have already started taking bookings for clinics starting on 1st October.
The announced and authorised cohorts eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in 2025/26 are:
- residents in a care home for older adults
- all adults aged 75 years and over
- persons aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed
Cohorts eligible for a flu vaccine in 2025/26 are :
- From September:
- pregnant women
- all children aged 2-3 years can be done at the practice and all children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to less than 18 years can be done at the practice from September
- all other child age groups will be done via the school nursing teams.
- From October:
- those aged 65 years and over
- those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
- those in long-stay residential care homes
- carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
- close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme
