The practice now has a facility for breast feeding mothers. This room is located opposite reception to the left hand side. This is signposted.
There are also baby changing facilities located in the disabled toilet. If you require any assistance please do not hesitate to ask.
Patients are invited to bring their babies and young children to the surgery for their vaccinations and immunisations. Please make an appointment with a practice nurse. If you are newly registered here, please drop in a copy of your baby’s vaccination history so we can update your records and ensure you are called in for boosters at the right time.
All adults should be immunised against tetanus every 10 years and for some occupations it is recommended to have protection against other diseases.
All doctors are qualified to provide a full range of contraceptive advice. Our nurses can also carry out follow up pill checks.
Coil and Implant fitting requires an initial appointment for discussion with Dr Shah or Dr Ali. You will then need to arrange another appointment with Dr Shah or Dr Alii and a healthcare assistant for the fitting. There are set clinics for these services.
People with learning disabilities are known to be at higher risk for health problems. This group is also known to be less likely to seek health advice.
Our health checks provide opportunity to review the health of patients with learning disabilities, their medications, and discuss issues that they may feel too embarrassed to ask about e.g. contraception.

Minor Illness Clinics are held Monday to Friday. Appointments can usually be made on the same day, or up to five days ahead.
The receptionists are trained to help patients decide if a minor illness nurse can help them. Please help them to help you by giving them as much information as possible when you are asking for an appointment. Everything is treated with complete confidentiality.
Prescriptions are available from the nurse run minor illness sessions.
Conditions the nurse can treat in this clinic are:
- Upper Respiratory Conditions – Coughs/colds/flu, sore throat, sinusitis, earache, hayfever
- Musculoskeletal Conditions – Minor injuries, back/neck pain, sprains
- Women’s Health – Thrush, vaginal discharge, emergency Contraception – and follow up for oral contraception
- Urological Conditions – Cystitis and urine infection
- Dermatological Conditions – Eczema, skin rash, sunburn, insect bites and stings
- Gastrointestinal Conditions – Diarrhoea/vomiting, constipation, haemorrhoids, thread worms
There are some urgent conditions which are excluded from the Minor Illness Clinic as they will require a doctors opinion:
- Severe chest pain or severe difficulty breathing
- Convulsions
- Coughing / vomiting blood
- Sudden loss of sight
- Bleeding profusely from any orifice
- Patients requiring sick notes
